MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WPMI) — A bill has been pre-filed in the Alabama House of Representatives to remove the confederate flag from the State Coat of Arms.

The bill, filed by Madison County representative Laura Hall, would remove the confederacy as one of “sovereigns that have at various times held dominion over a part or the whole of what is now the State of Alabama.”

If passed, the remaining flags on the Coat of Arms would represent Spain, France, Great Britain, and Alabama.
