Two Ways to Support the Guards

Friend of the Camp

This is great for those that don’t have a confederate ancestor or for members who are already a member of another SCV camp. You’ll be added to our roster, but you don’t get a vote within the camp.

What you get as a Friend of the Camp:

  • Genealogy Services
  • Access to Portal and Camp email address
  • Receive email newsletters so you can be the first in the know
  • Private camp invites for special events
  • Digital access to the Confederate Veteran magazine
  • Good ol’ camaraderie

Full Membership

This is how you become a full fledge member of the camp. You get access to all the same perks, and you have the right to vote within the camp.

Full Membership Includes:

  • Ability to vote at Camp Business Meetings
  • Genealogy Services
  • Access to Portal and Camp email address
  • Receive email newsletters so you can be the first in the know
  • Private camp invites for special events
  • Digital access to the Confederate Veteran magazine
  • Good ol’ camaraderie

To be eligible for the Full Membership, there must be a documented, genealogically direct or collateral family line to a Confederate Veteran.

Bring your son and grandsons with you! The Sons of Confederate Veterans offers a Cadet program for all boys up through age 12.

We also have a Friends of the SCV Membership available to both men and women and does not require lineage to a Confederate ancestor.

Full Membership

If you already have the name and service information of your Confederate Ancestor and would like to join the Sons of Confederate Veterans now, there are two options.

Online:

Complete the Full Membership application and pay your annual dues online and you’ll be member of the Alamo City Guards Camp #1325.

Offline:

If you would rather print and mail the Full Membership application in with your annual dues, please mail the hard copy with any ancestral documents along with your check for $67 (covers SCV National dues and Camp dues) made payable to the Alamo City Guards Camp #1325 to:

Upon verification of your Confederate Ancestor, we will send you your Membership Certificate package.

Full Member benefits include:

  • Sons of Confederate Veterans membership certificate that honors your Confederate Ancestor from our National Headquarters.
  • Annual subscription of the “Confederate Veteran” magazine from Sons of Confederate Veterans National Headquarters.
  • Annual subscription of the “TexDiv Reporter” newsletter issued by the Texas Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  • Monthly subscription to “The Texian Dispatch” issued by the Alamo City Guards Camp #1325
  • Inclusion in the AlamoCityGuards.com e-mail list to be notified of events and updates happening with the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  • Access to Portal and Community sections on AlamoCityGuards.com.
